I went for a walk late this afternoon to clear my head and heart and looked up to see this image. It was so evocative of the #ShadowWork I was processing. Both shadows hold #illusion and #truth and facing what is real, no matter how painful, is the way to move forward, Shadow shifting with movement.

I've been trying to figure out why I hesitate to share home-cooking ideas. I'm old enough to remember when #ChickenWings used to be a 'secret' source of protein for people living in poverty. Until some rich fool decided they were a perfect sportsball food & now they cost more per lb than other cuts.

I have to limit my #DoomScrolling despite my desire to keep informed because I do not like feeling the hate that all of this bullshit starts to make me feel. I did not come into the world with hate; it was thrust upon me by experienced and #witnessed #cruelty and I REFUSE to let it harden me too.

One of the Most Beloved Sounds to me in this beautiful world is the sound of the leaves of the Trees known as Popples regionally, or more widely, as Quaking Aspen. The Wind decided to play with me and went quiet, so most of the sound is near the end.

For the last 5 days, I got to step away from 95% of electronics, emails, the "news", and social media. It was so I could spend time with long-missed beloved family and it helped salve some hurting parts in my Spirit. Tomorrow, I catch up to myself & start again, grateful for such an important break.

I have reinvented myself so many times on the foundation bones of previous Me's, and I can feel myself doing so again. Stripped to bedrock, I rebuild.
A vignette into my Life. Today's card is Butterfly, pulled after the poem (which to me, means even more.) It comes from the Green Witch Oracle Deck, a new favorite, and reads "Transformation, joy, beauty, transience" which is so apt, all things considered. It rests beside a green cup that reads "Wild & Free" and shows a Bear and a Moon and Stars. The cup is filled with hot Earl Grey with honey. On the base of the stand rests what I think is a Feng Shui diviner, made of white jade. It is older even than me. The card itself rests on a thin slab of green serpentine, very reminiscent too of jade. The light shining through it is quite beautiful. Fuzzed out around these main items are the bones of my work/Work space; notebooks, writing implements of multiple colors and a much needed calendar and notepad. You cannot see the contentment, but it is there.
