This was one of the PC's 2023 election ads. The premier even produced a video of herself saying that if elected, her government was going to "stand firm" and say no to the landfill search. The lost the election and I think this ad played a role in that.

It seems like U.S. lawmakers are so beholden to their donors that their policies are geared to placate them rather than do what's best for the country; e.g., health care. That might work for the GOP but it's made the Dems useless. Plus they need to quit cozying up to the GOP ideologically.
