They're a species in the family of "assassin bugs." Here's the largest species in that family, the wheel bug. We get them in our yard and are not fond of them because they lie in wait on our flowers for Monarch butterflies and kill them.

Wow, I couldn't believe this, so I had to look it up. It must be true, but they've since changed it. Just unbelievable.

For perspective, from Deadline 15 years ago. Late night TV has lost a LOT of live viewership. Even so, it's hard to believe that The Late Show is losing money.
