"Gigantic Jets" lightning discharge that happens above thunderstorms.The ionosphere begins some 40km above the ground, and gigantic jets can reach some 50 -80 km above Earth. Red sprites နဲ့ ခပ်ဆင်ဆင်တူပေမယ့် ဒီတခုက မိုးတိမ်တောင်တွေရဲ့ အပေါ်ကနေ ဟိုး အိုင်ယွန်နိုစဖီးယားလေထုအလွှာအထိ တက်သွားတဲ့ upward thunderstorm လို့ တင်စားကြပါတယ် ။

Red Sprites ဆိုတာ တကယ့် ရှားပါးတဲ့ လေထုဖြစ်စဉ်ပါ : These mysterious bursts of light in the upper atmosphere momentarily resemble gigantic jellyfish.

In general, red sprites take only a fraction of a second to occur and are best seen when powerful thunderstorms are visible from the side.
