Playing with world building cards to get some ideas about fleshing out the plot I accidentally started in one of the latest stories.
I’m not very good at just letting the smut be plotless…

The healer reached out, gently placing their soft hand over his arm. A moment later Ardin was choking back a scream as he was hit by the worst pain he’d ever felt. The wound throbbing, aching, burning; a brief moment of agony piercing through the point of contact and echoing through his body before abruptly fading into relief. He sat dazed as he attempted to catch his breath. What the hell was that? “Did you expect something else?” Melior asked, pulling back. Yes, yes he had. “The magic merely enhances and speeds your own healing. The pain is condensed as well.” Melior's gaze lingered on the freshly healed skin where their hand had just rested. “Some people grow rather fond of it.” “Excuse me?” “The pain,” they clarified. “Some people find it —” Melior started as a third voice broke in, reminding him they weren’t alone in the room. “Thanks, Mel, I’m sure he just needs some rest after experiencing that for the first time.” His boss was still here, looking like she'd rather not be.
