Also, I know this is just incomprehensible crazy talk but if this was such a “brilliant strategy” then WHY DID THIRTY NINE DEMOCRATS NOT VOTE FOR IT INCLUDING SCHUMER HIMSELF, HOW DO YOU EVEN TIE YOUR FUCKING SHOES

What these two ideas share is they require Democrats to simply win every election forever, a thing categorically impossible, less possible than any leftist idea they handwave as fantasy. But it FEELS good to say what great ideas those are, and as long as the brunch flows, that’s enough.

Roe/Dobbs and abortion is a perfect example of this. Libs insist there are only two possible options: either Democrats somehow have 60 pro-choice senators because they will of course never eliminate the filibuster, or we flip two Supreme Court seats and get a ruling in our favor in 20 years, maybe.

As I’ve said many times, one of the core principles of modern liberalism is they don’t actually care about winning, they just care about not feeling bad for losing. We’re already watching this today with the requisite think pieces about how completely caving on the ACA is A Good Thing, Actually.

Last night proved that Dems are once again all in on “vote for us, we are not Trump” a year after that exact strategy got Trump reelected. Please do not attempt to blame me when this fails again.

Please, proceed. Call me selfish or self-centered or naïve or stupid. Do that not 12 hours after – and I cannot stress this enough – Democrats voted to effectively destroy their own signature health policy.

But hey, you’ll get that Epstein vote now, because THAT’s gonna matter!

Once again, Chuck Schumer losing leadership is not a thing you have to wait four years for. It can happen tomorrow. Every single day, every single hour, Democratic senators are not demanding. It is a capitulation to changing nothing. I can do nothing too. You have no idea how easy it is.

Blue MAGA’s sniveling little out was always “we have to get better Democrats, we have to win first and then make change.” You’re lying. This change doesn’t happen while Chuck Schumer is caucus leader. If you’re pretending otherwise, you’re not worth me listening to, so don’t tell me who to vote for.

You told us to suck it up over Cop City. You told us to suck it up over the complete lie on the $2000 checks. You told us to suck it up over a goddamn genocide (hey, remember that? The genocide? Weird how we just stopped talking about the GENOCIDE). Your strategy has failed. You may sit down now.

And I truly don’t know how when upon being asked “so what happens when this vote inevitably fails and millions of people lose healthcare” the person who spearheaded it literally says “oh well” we then expect Democrats to remain one of the two major parties in this country

Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

Like for six weeks, Democrats actually united on a singular, coherent message of “this is entirely about healthcare, it is the only thing that matters, all of this is about protecting healthcare” and then the flight delays started and the first thing they did was give up on healthcare
