Let’s suffice it to say that civic canonization was the least the fascists for their Horst Wessel. No matter how many times people said the killing was deeply bad, no kook could hear them on the march to monetizing/exploiting it in the most cynically nihilistic way imaginable.

The people spreading this don’t understand that this IS a display of basic American values.
That is, when Disney was being harassed by a kook fascist, people rooted for Disney, and when Disney folded to a fascist President, they condemned it heavily. The idea of a civic/moral value is foreign.

Imagine someone whose views were so immoral and odious that even in mourning, no one (even supporters) can accurately quote or even summarize his views (to the extent that propagandists ever have any).

Sure do! And I suppose I’ve always seen them as a barometer for a candidate’s ideological position in their party. Republicans can get Conservative or Liberty or Constitution party endorsements. Democrats can get the Working Families Party and others.

Boredom and affluence are funny things, and a whole lot of people just went politically insane based on just laughable nonsense.
Maybe when their banks start paying extorted billions into the fascist slush funds, people might wake up. But I doubt it.

I’m not keen to call people out, but anytime I (someone vaguely qualified to do so) calls out the nonsense claims about the state of computer science being made, the replies start with misunderstanding basic terminology and end in “it needs to dream” technobabble. People need to get a grip.
