Trump's Department of Labor's new ad campaign:

I found this image of the leaders of the original "No Kings" movement. Remember this when you hear Republicans claim this is a terrorist movement.

I'm not saying Trump has dementia, but he might want to look up who was POTUS on 1/6/21. (Also, FBI agents responded to the attack on the Capitol—not placed into the crowd.)

Trump is correct in one way—we should DO SOMETHING. Impeachment and removal or Section 4 of the 25th Amendment would work.

Not sure if we'll get a weekly update on #COVID19 in wastewater today, as we do on Fridays. This is the BS message on the CDC website. And yes, this violates the Hatch Act against using a government website to advocate for or against a political party.

#Twitter/#X is just a 100% authentic place full of real lifelong Democrats who suddenly realized Charlie Kirk was right, registered as Republicans, and posted so in identical tweets. These are absolutely not foreign bots trying to influence US politics or increase partisan divides in the US.

This is from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Just thought I'd post it here for no particular or current reason.

Here's where the US (or the GOP) is today: Despite it being clearly unconstitutional, a majority of Republicans think Donald Trump should run again.

Democracy doesn't die in the dark. It dies in daylight in the hands of the GOP.

For those of you smart enough to want your fall #COVID19 vaccine, Costco tells us it expects new Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax vaccines in September/October.

Trump is concerned that the Smithsonian is focused on "how bad slavery was." Can't wait to see it's new upbeat take on enslaving human beings.

Trump's economy:

Data from S&P 500 Global showed that the number of filings for US corporate bankruptcy surpassed the level of 2020. A total of 71 public and private companies filed for bankruptcy last month.

I'm traveling, so no big weekly update, but the latest wastewater data is no surprise. The #COVID19 summer surge is off to a late start, but it's underway.

The people who've spent a decade screaming about pedophiles in government and spreading disinfo about Democrats running a pedo ring in a fictional pizza restaurant basement are now fine with Republicans straight-up protecting real pedophiles in government?

The first chart shows Walgreens' positive rate (thick line) and COVID wastewater (thin), and in the past year, there's been almost no correlation.

The 2nd chart shows hospitalizations (colorful line) and COVID wastewater, and they commonly move the same direction.

I owe Schumer and the #Democrats an apology. I've said they are not up to the task of mounting a true resistance against the destruction of our values and democracy. But, I can see they are laser focused on the important stuff--like the name of the crappy bill that will harm most Americans. 🙄

Nothing says "I'm a Christian" like wanting to feed poor immigrants building a better life for their families to wild animals. If only there were a passage in the Bible about someone, let's call him Daniel, being fed to wild animals, let's say lions, and God's intervention in such an evil plan.

Wait, you mean bombing other nations has implications?! Who knew? (Does Trump think he can control global oil prices with a social media post?)

The trend continues: Starting in 2020, US disabilities started to rise abruptly, and they have not stopped. This is due to many causes, but we cannot ignore how repeated #COVID19 infections are harming people.

Ignoring #COVID19's risk to kids has ramifications. While chronic school absenteeism has declined a bit since 2022 (when we had the giant Omicron surge), it remains 50% above the levels seen before the pandemic.

Where are all the DOGE savings going? We're decimating public health, cutting services for Americans, slashing jobs, and risking recession--and the government is spending just as much, if not more, this year than last year. Where are all those "savings" going?

Oh, FFS, what the hell is wrong with the media that it must find the most negative possible framing of every news story?

Crime is down. Does the media celebrate this? No, "Auto Glass merchants are suffering!"

This makes perfect sense considering (checks notes) #COVID19 is more deadly, causes more chronic illness, and is more infectious throughout the year than the flu. 🙄

More of that completely-not-at-all racist rhetoric from the right.

The helicopter fell apart in midair, according to witnesses and video. The pilot, Sean Johnson, is a former US Navy Veteran with an accumulated 788 hours of total flight time.
