It is established in « Asterix the Gaul » that lobster is one of the ingredients in the magic potion. Thank goodness Asterix’s village is so close to the ocean!

Strawberries are not a part of the Magic Potion recipe, but they are a plot point in the same album. I shall spoil you no further.

Thing I learned this week: Ray Zone once published a comic book of Sergio Aragones comics in 3-D.

Inching ever so closer to the much vaunted 1000 subscriber mark on YouTube.

I still dabble in 3-D conversions. Here's an image by Dale Keown that I picked up on Heritage's website. The 3-D work is kind of subtle. It's tough to work with line art that has that much shading in it. I learned lots along the way....

“Alex, I’ll take ‘Comic Company Ads That Wouldn’t Fly Today’ for $100.”

As a rule, I don’t buy comics just for their covers.

I made an exception on this one.

Comics at the airport. MCO (Orlando).

I hope one of the kiddies begs mom for a copy of that Saga trade paperback. 🤣

I’m no branding expert, but I have spent a lot of time thinking about fonts and stuff. Call me crazy, but I don’t think this “Disney’s Gifts & Toys” store is officially licensed. My first clue: Comic Sans.

Bruce Timm in Amazing Heroes #21, featuring the logical progression of comics at the time: barbarian blood bath!

TikTok better not die before this YouTube short hits 1000 views. I’d be very disappointed…

Fantagraphics. 1982. Can someone go check up on this kid to see if he made it through the last decade?

Guess who cleaned up with all the comics awards in 1987?

Alf comic promo art.

Surely, there’s a collector out there somewhere with an Alf-themed sketchbook, right?

Bruce Timm drawing contemporary comic characters from 1982. Remember — Archie Meets the Punisher was still more than a decade away. And Cerebus/X-Men eventually was announced but never made.

Wait a minute! Superman 3-D by John Byrne?!!

Another lost project I wish we had seen….

Sit back for a story: I found the original RSS feed. The mp3 file is dated Jan 5. The release date is Jan 6, but the feed says that’s a Tuesday but it was actually a Thursday. I’m assuming I mistyped TUE for THU in the RSS feed. Ah, manually updated RSS feeds! 😎

So it is TODAY, after all!
