I think you can level up your back even more so it sounds like a door of a cabin abandoned for 78 years where idiot protagonists die whole vlogging the whole thing to an audience of 46 people, with 40 of them being bots.

Oh yeah fair enough. Also, maybe i shall use something with that idea for the anglerfish inspired creature in the later parts of the story im working on

4, what if the head was the piece of glass where the fire in a lantern is contained, and that whole lantern is held by the hands, if that makes sense?

So the ideas I have are:
1. What if there is parts of the body down to there the shoulder girdle is, including the scapulas an the clavicles, and the hands held the head by that. Maybe even some handles on it that they could hold it by
2. They hold by the hair, maybe a braid
3. Lantern handle

Did some more concepts

I think maybe if the hands held the head by the hair it would be clearer bc of the contrast in value between the skin and the hair, plus it will change the shape of the silhouette in a way that would divert from how a head normally would look

So i was thinking about this design some more, and what if instead of the head floating or having a neck piece connecting it to the body, what if the arms were used to hold the head

AY AY CAPTAIN! will certainly look further into that
November 23, 2025 at 12:08 AM
Oooooo, that sounds really fun, I cant wait to see how you mess around with shapes of winds and sections of different types of feathersss.

Thank you! :D

I think so too. Like, i saw the caterpillar based concepts and realized “huh, i havent studied caterpillars”, so i did some studies
November 22, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Well, I think the knowledge of anatomy you have right now is getting your ideas down pretty well, so as long as it does that job i dont see an issue with some shortcuts
November 22, 2025 at 11:53 PM
I also just, really enjoy studying >:]
November 22, 2025 at 11:49 PM
Interesting! I tend to do a tonnn of studies along with gathering references, most likely because my visual library is more limited
November 22, 2025 at 11:49 PM
Did you do any arthropod studies before sketching out concepts?
November 22, 2025 at 11:45 PM
Oh hell yeah these are so fun, I love this stage of designing things, I have sketchbooks worth full entirely with scribbly concepts. I have little to no refined/presentational work for concepts. Mainly because I don't have many people to present it to, and I've been struggling to find info about it.
November 22, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Interesting! This is really helpful, thank you! I find it hard to find information about professional work practices and techniques, so I appreciate you answering quite a lot :D.

I got some questions about your organization, what are the letters A and B representing in regard to the labels of each set of concepts. What's it organizing?
Also, I've seen the bar at the bottom in official concept art before, is there a common formatting for it and the information it contains?
