You could also make the head of the projectile stretch a little more at the beginning and then squash more as it’s coming to a halt to give it a speedier look. The black smokes in the burst all dissipate at the same time, it’d be cool if they eroded at different speeds. Looks really nice already!

Oooo this looks really good already! I think at the beginning the particles that are sucking inwards could have a little more randomness in their movement or more of a swirly inward motion, maybe like a curl noise force or vortex force.
