The poor Moomins are always moving from one mishap to another; that's why I love them. More Americans should look them up & give Tove Jansson's work a go. She also wrote prose. She was antifa and mocked the Nazis with her art! And she pulled off a secret relationship with the woman she loved.~~

A multipen is better than a multipass because with it you can invent an infinite amount of places to go to in your imagination.

I gave this manuscript a narrator who has *opinions* and I have never had so much fun giving a character a voice than I have with someone who never even shows up physically in the story.

Anyway, highlighted the word for 11/8 #wipsnips because we've still got an hour left in the day here in CA. #wip
There are other formally robed magistrates who earned the right to sit this year in the king's box — but truth is they are really boring, unimportant pricks who have little impact on the violent, action-packed drama that is about to unfold, so we'll just skip them and go straight the last row at the back, in which reside the current members of the King's Guard, dressed in their own formal raiment.

When I saw this, it felt ike an unintended metaphor...

There are also brown rice packs. I suggest getting toppings that are meant to go with them and add nutritional value. Furikake seasoning has seaweed, which has a lot of good stuff in it. It's tasty and NOT spicy unless labeled that way. There are several brands.

Another one for #pantries: Nishiki pre cooked rice. Only a microwave needed for this. The bowl can theoretically be gently washed and reused. It's enough for a kid's meal or as one part of a larger meal for an adult. Come in 6 packs. Walmart etc likely to have them.

One of my favorite unexpected discoveries of artwork I have encountered while just out and roaming about while traveling...
Two practical metal boxes fixed on a sidewalk in a busy city area, likely for city utilities hidden inside. Both of the boxes have been painted with lively, brightly colored artwork, likely commissioned by the city. Left is a woman from a previous century in a green dress with a red shawl and bright orange braided hair. She is wrangling a basket of clothing on her head, another basket in her arm, a single tire small green wagon and is surrounded by cats and dogs eyeing the food sitting in all these objects. On the right a black cat has made off with a bit of fish. The second box, to the right, is smaller and features an elderly woman with curled gray hair. She is covered in a bright orange shawl and has one hand waving over a box that is covered with wave symbols suggesting it is full of water; the viewer can see what she's trying to sell: fish and octopi straight from the sea, all of which look a bit worried about their future. Behind her is the hint of a very busy street with the backs of heads of people walking by.

(I recall the Library also having single use rooms elsewhere in the building which I believe were also handicap and infant changing friendly.)

Consider thick udon noodles over scraggly store ramen. You can find them in a noodly wet packaged state for some brands and kids might (or might not) like super thick noodles better. Some will come with containers for microwaving. Also worth remembering: not all families eat American-style food.

~Boxed *creamy* mac and cheese: Look for brands that have a creamy cheese sauce packet, no milk or butter required. Kraft Deluxe.

~ULTRA PASTEURIZED MILK IN WAXED BOXES DO NOT HAVE TO BE REFRIGERATED UNTIL OPENED. So UHT can last 3 months in a cupboard AND that's less plastic waste.
