Yesterday, the Criminal Justice Committee, which I convene, launched a call for views on our 2026/27 pre-budget scrutiny. How should bodies like the police, fire service, prisons, the courts etc be funded for the coming year?

With climate change increasing the risk of flooding, it’s more important than ever that households can access affordable, reliable insurance cover.

The Flood Insurance Directory helps people in flood-prone areas find the protection they need, including those in homes not covered by standard schemes

⭕ Yesterday, I challenged Labour’s Martin Whitfield on the 250 job losses at Harbour Energy in Aberdeen, a direct result of Westminster’s damaging windfall tax.

🥀Thanks to Labour, we have lost jobs, lost investment, and our North East region is being left behind.

250 oil & gas jobs gone, thanks to Labour’s reckless Westminster windfall tax.

🔴 78% tax rate
🔴 Extended to 2030
🔴 Investment driven out of the North East

This wasn’t an accident. It was a decision made in Westminster, rubber-stamped by Labour.

🏠 Today, I met with Housing Minister Paul McLennan MSP and homeowners in Balnagask, Torry, affected by RAAC.

Residents shared their experiences and concerns in an open, honest discussion. I’m hopeful this will be a step forward toward a fair and timely solution.

🔴 The SNP’s plan to abolish the two-child benefit cap is stuck in Westminster’s grip.

👩‍🏭 Maths skills are key for careers in engineering and renewables. I heard this firsthand from apprentices at NESCol during #ScottishApprenticeshipWeek.

📣 I asked what more can be done to connect schools, colleges, and industry and ensure young people see how maths is used in the real world.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The North East needs urgent action on the Acorn CCS project - vital for decarbonisation, jobs & industry. I raised this with the Scot Gov, and DFM Kate Forbes agrees: progress is far too slow. Westminster Labour is leaving Scotland behind.

🎗 Ahead of Mother’s Day, I’m supporting Asda Tickled Pink in encouraging everyone to check their boobs, pecs and chests regularly. Knowing what’s normal for you can help spot any unusual changes early - because early detection improves outcomes.

🖐 Make self-checks part of your routine!

If it’s okay to not be okay, why are many still hiding how they feel?

I am supporting @seemescotland.bsky.social #IfItsOkay campaign to call for more support and understanding of mental illness to help address the shame which people continue to face.
