Probably a bracket issue, i'd say Despark is amazing in low b3 and below, but gets gradually worse at medium b3 and above.

Also very good for cracking clues and equipping stuff onto your creatures.

Exactly, it is its own format, i can't think of anyone gesamtkunstweking in any other format. I also totally know what that is.

Love using this fella here to drop some otherwise uncastable creatures and give them haste.

Unless you're actively playing combo or making the opponents tap their lands, i don't think it's inappropriate to run this in any bracket. Very easy to play around unless you're legit trying to abuse it or playing decks that need to be interacted with for the game to continue.
