When we see citizens being detained and harassed on video, the idea that only the undocumented students are absent is ridiculous. Even our Hispanic citizen teachers are bringing multiple forms of ID with them to school in case they're stopped.

This, regarding Buttigieg, is pretty revisionist. He formed an exploratory committee in January 2019, and it isn't hard to find posts and essays immediately after that calling him too white, too privileged, too assimilated, etc.

Pretty much. This can also just be documented by mapping commuting patterns and other metrics of economic integration. Virginia is far more integrated with the Northeast, even if it's culturally and historically part of the South.

A congressional district office usually has about the same infrastructure and space as, you know, a storefront H&R Block. I do not think those would be easy to convert to viable food pantries at the scale needed, especially since they would still need that office space.
