I once spotted a once-in-a-lifetime American Golden Plover at the door of this little beauty. Long before I decided to take photos of anything. I remember my mother telling me about how many traveling birds loved this spot for its natural defense against the gulf winds.

But once emerged they quickly pump a wing growing hormone through ducts that run from their abdomen to its wings. And in a matter of 2-3 hours . These beautifies are ready to fly!

We like to bring some of the fatter caterpillars inside since my backyard is a bird sanctuary as well. And these parsley flavored caterpillars are a favorite of the nesting cardinals. But here is what the cocoon looks like and it will stay this way for a couple weeks.

We provide lots of parsley in our garden to get this velvety black beauties. They start off like all butterflies, big chubby caterpillars. Here is one just about to make a cocoon!
