I find Phil Rocco's theory that the coalitional nature of the Dem. party has left it unprepared to confront an anti-constitutional one persuasive. I'd be very interested to hear from people across the pond whether the same dynamics hold there.

from what i understand, it was discontent with the direction of the inflation numbers that drove anti-incumbent sentiment, so i can only conclude that they felt the biden admin had done too much to control inflation. this makes sense, since the american public thinks price controls are socialism
