Been thinking more about addition. Plus in Latin means 'more' or 'greater in amount'. Also, from Old French surplus (sur = “over” + plus = “more”). So the first encounter of addition as an idea, both for children and humanity is 'counting on' which you mentioned in your post.

Ah, thanks I see. This sounds great and I will sign up to it. I can still keep publishing on wordpress on my site but this will give me an academic format to discuss.

I would have gone to your session too Debs and Pete's session. Too many good sessions to choose from! I have Tom's book too and it is a great well illustrated read.
