I've just finished watching Department Q (Netflix). Highly recommended. All the cast is great but Matthew Goode has found an eye-catching and possibly defining role. #DepartmentQ

I was alone in the cinema waiting to see Wicked, thinking "I'm gonna be able to sing along". Then a couple arrived to spoil my fun.

I have no doubt that the problems in the US, which include unbelievable inequality, can be traced to Reagan, a truly terrible President. Trickle down economics? What a crock.
In 1979, Jimmy Carter had solar panels installed at the White House.

Ronald Reagan had them removed.

We may be able to trace back the current "Do Harmful Things if it Trolls the Libs" Republicanism to Reagan removing those panels the far more forward thinking Carter had installed.

I've started my annual rewatch of favourite Christmas movies. I started with Desk Set (1957) which is not a Christmas movie as such, but these girls sure knew how to throw a Christmas party.

I'm so glad that there's a word for this.
Word of the day is ‘librocubicularist’: one who loves nothing better than reading in bed.

(Not easy to say, but I’m glad to know it exists).

I spent the afternoon buying a baby monitor for my beloved nephew and his lovely wife who are about to have their first child. That, and wandering with them through the baby shop, was wonderful.

Honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about Tony Abbott joining the News Corp board. If his track record as prime minister is anything to go by, the organisation has about three years before he takes it down from the inside.

I've only just caught up with the fact that Kamahl changed his mind on the referendum. Good on him and the people who reached out to him. www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...
‘Learn the facts’: Kamahl makes Voice U-turn to support Yes vote
The singer and TV personality has reversed his position on the referendum in the space of a week, saying his earlier position was “flippant” and “uninformed”.
