Such a relief to see that, while the US and the rest of the world are grappling with financial chaos and the possible end of a democracy, the White House are focussing on the important things.

Clearly, even the SMH knows that Dutton equals Trump.

We know Trump's tariff formula wasn't based on tariffs but on trade deficits. But it seems they got this formula wrong as well. Had they applied the formula correctly, the tariffs would have been about a quarter of the announced levels.

On 3 March, Jane Hume stated unequivocally that the Dutton back to office mandate would apply to all APS employees.
Today Dutton not only lied about this policy but also claimed the PM lied by suggesting the order would impact anyone other than Canberra public servants.

Trump's indiscriminate tariffs will hit developing countries (like Vietnam & Cambodia) really hard because of the size of the tariffs & the extent that these countries depend on the US for export income. It's incumbent on our govt to advocate for them & provide what direct assistance we can.
