Kitty worked hard on that tree today.

Marigold’s not as interested in Bubblegum Crisis as I am, but we can still hang out.

Great morning for a run in Cleveland! Honestly the wind wasn’t too bad. At least it was dry.

It’s not the most beautiful challah but it should be tasty.

For some reason this morning I decided to see if the exuberant "Blockland" period in Cleveland's history had produced any overly-optimistic t-shirts I could pick up and wear ironically. It doesn't look like it, but this one might work. It even implies diversity!

Two middle school boys wanted to take a picture with me at the cross
country meet. I have no idea what prank has befallen me or what meme I’ll become.

Finally got the Frankie Goes to Hollywood: Twelve Inches cd set. This is not a super easy disc to find at this point. I texted my friend and he responded “Congratulations. You are now a man.” 😂

One of my friends has loaned me their NA Miata while they are on vacation. It is tremendously fun.

Finally, the Trailer Park Boys snacks left me with no doubt as to where I was. And I will close with the most prescient historical marker I saw: The American Menace. Thanks for hosting this ugly American, Halifax. Maybe we'll see each other again someday.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia's exhibit on Denyse Thomasos. A real highlight of the trip.

Public transit was mostly ok! I took the bus to and from the airport. A bus actually took me to York Redoubt. Sure, I had to sprint across a busy four lane road on the way back so as not to miss my transfer and have to wait 40 minutes, but I got there! The North End was pretty accessible by transit.

The public library, public gardens, and public archives were all cool. These are all great public resources to be protected.

It's been about a year since I visited Halifax. It was a very meaningful trip, as I'd wanted to go for a while. Everyone should go visit the Africville museum and Fort Needham Park for perspective. For the fun stuff, Point Pleasant Park, the Natural History Museum, & York Redoubt were cool.

Lately cords Apple Computer no longer makes or has in stock are only available in downstream distribution channels. I found this 2 meter usb-a to lightning cord at Verizon of all places. Earlier in the year I found an 85-watt MagSafe 1 power brick at the Culinary Institute of America’s book store!

I found an old book I had as a kid. “The Grand Tour: A traveler’s guide to the solar system”. It’s a mix of scientific observation and fantastic speculative art for what it would be like on various planets or moons. Copyright 1981! cc @runningastronomer.bsky.social

I ran the Cleveland Half Marathon today and managed to get this photo during the race. It was a very nice day for a run this time of year. Looking forward to a couple of weeks break.

This is my life now: I’ve watched so much City Hunter with my partner recently that they heard a podcast on The Tale of Genji and were like, I knew you would want to read this!

Not feeling well today so I stopped the long run after a couple miles. Somedays it’s like that. I’ve been training well the last three months though, so I’m not too sad.
