There are things the US Standardized
1-Chassis width, 34 inches
2-Engine flywheel SAE#1 with certain spline pattern
3-axle yokes, mounting points and bellhouses

Iveco and MAN use the same gearbox but cant be swapped due to the bellhouse

You cant use a volvo fh suspension on a mercedes

Not exactly

The american truck industry works like gaming PC, standardized mountings points and specs that allow great customization

The european truck industry works like apple, propietary design and uniform offering, a scania gearbox will only work with a scania engine
January 24, 2026 at 11:35 AM
On a purely performance basis american fire trucks are better they are also custom made to the customers instead of using normal on highway parts

And in my experience american truck engines are better
January 23, 2026 at 12:43 PM
The cummins nt855 had 4 valves per cylinder, and unit injectors 50 years before it became commonplace in european trucks, the engine in my freightliner the Detroit series 60 was the very first electronic semi engine

And it wipes out the floor with its european counterparts

You understand that the EV people will buy are chinese correct?
August 23, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Putin is banking on the US eventually abusing and Backstabbing its own allies and troops in iran

I would not be surprised if either the FSB or the Mossad collaborate on a trump assasination and blame it in Iran after the 2026 world cup
July 29, 2025 at 2:45 PM
China wants the war to keep going so they dont focus on them

Both Russia and China need the US to overextend and throw it in as many wars as possible

Iran is a trap
July 29, 2025 at 2:41 PM
And it did very little harm, in 2022 what the EU and Biden did was more or less forgive all of russia's external debt because we consider debt to be an asset

I have been at some point extremely antisemitic, i think that one of the elements that has me helped solve such issues was the abstract debates i had with many members of the jewish community, which i have found out to be quite enjoyable by analyzing and comparing the western and hebrew worldviews
July 28, 2025 at 10:44 PM
We have been voluntarily plugged into a totalitarian society and we dont realize it

The most effective kind of dictatorship is the one where people believed they are free and heading to utopia
July 28, 2025 at 9:37 PM
I think that a lot of people sense but cant quite get or express just how insane has the world become

The trouble with social media is that is designed to be adictive, and there are reasons why tech ceo dont allow their kids to have social media
July 28, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Hello

I think a lot of people doesnt get the importance of sizewell C because they lack a grand view of the stuff, that requires a small book to get it

The best possible outcome is fusing the British and French nuclear buildout and using the EPR-1200 as standard design reactor, and build 48 units
July 28, 2025 at 6:06 PM
The problem with implementing a fast breeder reactor is that there are various pathways

-Sodium cooled
-Lead cooled
-Molten salt cooled-Solid fuel
-Molten salt fluid fuil

And even with that there are pool and loop types
July 28, 2025 at 5:10 PM
And it would probably be far cheaper as you could take advantadge of scale and reach costs of 1500£/kw if not less for something that will endure a century
July 28, 2025 at 5:00 PM
If Britain is any serious on nuclear power it has to stop with half measures a do something like the Mesmer Plan

48 standardized nuclear reactors distributed in 16 sites, preferably using the EPR-1200 as a standard design, a lower output simplifier versión of the EPR-II, which is a simplified EPR
July 28, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Without admitting directly or indirectly that the current economic model is indeed a castle in the air and financialization was a mistake
July 26, 2025 at 11:14 PM
Orban is neutral like Israel, that gets tech from the US and EU and sells it to Russia and Chin

You need to have a proactive clear foreign policy and strategy, not signals, and no one in europe has any idea where should europe head to

Reactive foreign policy is what lead to the ukraine war
July 26, 2025 at 3:42 PM
And you seriously think that paks-2 is that important for russia? Less than 10% of the cost is on their output, half of it is finance and 20% of the construction cost is the nuclear part

They just using the void left by western countries that made nuclear industry illegal 20 years ago
July 26, 2025 at 3:27 PM
And you would get 2400MWe for "free"
July 26, 2025 at 2:53 PM
With the difference that finland barely Manufacturers any part of the reactor and isnt as dependant on heavy industry as hungary

Wanna hurt rosatom? Let them build paks 2 and in 6 years snatch it so they pay all the cost but dont get any income from it
July 26, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Skoda has licensed over 20 years ago the AES-2006 versión of the VVER-1200 and has the capacity to make the major components

If you wanted to damage economically rosatom you would let them pay for the construction and then steal it
July 26, 2025 at 1:11 PM
Because they use General electric, Sulzer, Siemens, Atlas Copco ABB parts outside Russia

The only thing you would gain with killing Paks-II would leaving a lot of people without a job and the russians would build them in their own counry or with domestic parts
July 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM
You are writing it as if houses becoming less unaffordable is a bad thing
July 26, 2025 at 9:55 AM
The Problem with the UK if not all european economies is more inherent, the economical model of western countries since the 70s has been built uppon a financial post industrial castle in the air

There is no political willpower nor consensus to actually crash the system and fix it from the bases
July 26, 2025 at 9:50 AM
What is also true is that hadnt Argentina ran massive deficits and debt in the 90s and 2010s today Argentina would have a gdp per capita as high as most of western europe or canada or australia

No other country has tried so hard to destroy itself
