“Those guys have put in a lot of work coming from a three-win team to a seven-win team three years ago,” Barr said. “Our job is easier when you have kids like that in the locker room.”

Had a lot of fun learning about the Mr. Hockey award and what it means to the state of Minnesota. Four winners of the award remain in college hockey, I chatted with them all.

Ben Meehan turned down signing his entry-level contract with the Kings so he could return to Lowell for one last run. With Meehan in the mix, Lowell has gotten off to an impressive start.

Trevor Hoskin was told he was too small and too weak at 15-years old, getting cut from his AAA team. It’s motivated him since, leading him to become a 4th round selection of the Flames and a key piece to Niagara’s hot start.
