If you’re interested though, shudder had a series on cursed movies and they had an episode on Cannibal Holocaust. I haven’t seen it in a while but I remember it being interesting to hear the cast and crew talk about the movie.

Several of the cannibal films reused footage from other cannibal films too. There’s a sequence of a monkey getting eaten by a python specifically that I have seen in a few of them. Which is more ethical than doing it over for each one I guess.

To be fair, I hear all the arguments about the animals being killed on screen but is it any different than what PETA does? It’s the same thing, they just filmed an animal being butchered. They ate it afterwards so it wasn’t “in vain” so I don’t see an issue.
