I’d be willing to bet he got a legal opinion before pulling out. My first thought is whether the contract has a clause that binds “successors, beneficiaries,...” It’s usually boilerplate, but it may not be in a contract for this type of thing. And the other factors at play here are pretty unique.

Almost every exam, especially in upper division courses, was done with a blue book. I didn’t mind them. In fact, they were way better than the bar exam I had to write with a lap top. Reading the questions on the tiny screen was the only thing worse than trying to type answers on the tiny keyboard.

I remember reading about it at the end of 2016 and hadn’t revisited until this week. Might be wrong about an actual settlement. But settlements sometimes require parties to not disclose its existence, so it still may be true. May also not be true.

This morning’s tranche of docs reveals (to me at least) that the pressure is on. There’s no way that some of these see the light of day unless there are real threats of sanctions, likely impeachment(s).

It depends on the enforcement mechanism in the law itself. I need to get around to looking for it. But if it’s silent (which I doubt), the consequence would be impeachment and potential prosecution for, say, obstruction of justice (fully aware that prosecution is a futile hope).
