Thanks. I didnt know that. No one is being critical of the defendants or claiming they do not have a right to a vigorous defense. That is not in dispute. The lawyer chooses who to and not to represent in exchange for pay. They are making a business choice. Why should the lawyer be above criticism?

This is correct, but also not really in conflict with the DFL statement. Everyone is due the right to a vigorous defense. Those defendants would be appointed public defendants to represent them. Private practices choose what clients to defend & do so in exchange for pay. That seems fair to criticize

Omar had the most experience, recognition and organizing, but he’s not that charismatic. Jazz is charismatic and I think that is why he caught on a bit, but lacks the other things to really break through. Davis has like-ability and compelling qualifications, but was unknown. Hope he keeps going

Zohran is also a talented politician. I’ve seen a lot of people really discounting how charismatic he is. He is easily and genuinely engaging to watch and listen too. That is a talent, and goes a long way for new candidate.

The Del Prado comp is silly. Kim was very high profile. She was all over tv and social media. She seems to enjoy the attention and spotlight (no judgement). DDP is not that. He doesn’t have social media. Outside of news about his restaurants you dont hear from or about him.

Yeah. Based on the amount time she spends doing tv work and cultivating her national fame I think it’s more likely she simply decided thats more fun and far easier than running restaurants

I think if you put it to a vote most people would also ban loud cars and motorbikes. People like quiet streets. They just have no power to stop them.

Whats interesting is a lot of complaints Ive seen about the law are ‘it’s another govt cash grab’ and the admin has been quick to state that they collect zero dollars from it.

Isn’t this only for people born after 1987?

Melissa delete this. It was not a police car. It was an SUV decorated to look like one. Check local reporters

"My very important job is meetings! I get paid tens of millions of dollars to attend meetings. Sometimes you people act like my big meetings aren't valuable. As if they are unproductive and a waste of your time, but the work of having meetings has to get done."

No. The chair would have to recognize a new speaker, and the republican chair would not. That is why it has been Booker the whole time. The short pauses he gets are for a member to ask him a question but he cannot yield the floor.

Correct. So your statement was that they intended to disenfranchise and did not hide that intent. Which is what was questionable.
January 15, 2025 at 6:08 AM
Intention is a noun. Naked an adjective. Naked describes the intention. So your usage, whether meant to or not, states disenfranchising is the intent and ‘naked’ describes that intent as being unhidden.

Like this wasnt an outline for his 50 state strategy or something. It was a short conversation with Jonathan freaking Martin.

Mentions multiple problems. Lack of a communications strategy, too much consultant speak, telling people what is rather than listening to people. This is particularly an issue he identifies. Highly engaged people will take issue that you didn’t say specifically what they want you to say…

“But I do think we have some structural problems that — What worries me a bit is we could stage a political comeback without addressing our structural problems.” He literally states the need to address structural problems

The Braves are owned by a public company so there is info available and it shows they are profitable. Plus franchise values have skyrocketed so most owners have seen their assets multiply in value.

Nah. Bad headline. They had a great report. Blew out revenues. Beat on everything. Forward guidance is higher than consensus. Just not higher than the most optimistic projections.

Oh some of the farmers had to buy the land from the govt or railroads?! How did the govt & railroads get the land? The author is literally erasing Native American history from this article.
