And as Dr. Forté concludes: "These executive orders represent a continued attack on science by the Trump administration that has been well documented and opposed by UCS."

And as Dr. Beyea says, “The fact that there is uncertainty in risks at low doses is not a justification for claiming that the risk there is zero.”

But, as @nucsafetyucs.bsky.social says, "“There is no scientific basis for a change to the status quo, and President Trump’s attempt to force the NRC to abandon LNT is brazen political influence on science akin to the war on climate change mitigation, vaccines, and more.”

For those that don't know him. Gregory has spent much of his professional career in China, and has built relationships with a large network of Chinese scientists and experts. so he knows whereof he speaks. Take a gander at his bio:

Yes it is an unlikely scenario and yes some details are dubious, but - like A House of Dynamite - the wrong details don’t undermine the fundamental truth that everyone should know but doesn’t

I would agree for anyone who has your level of knowledge. I would give a hard DISAGREE for anyone who is not steeped in the issues. They should ALL read the book. It is scary and possible and will raise awareness.

And finally my amazing former colleague Sulgi Park produced this important piece in @thebulletin.org with Rod Ewing on the environmental impacts of underground nuclear weapons testing. Well worth your time to read (but paywalled):
Environmental impacts of underground nuclear weapons testing
Between 1945 and 1996, more than 2,000 nuclear tests were conducted, three-quarters of which were underground. What is their environmental legacy?

She also made the case early in the Trump administration - in light of Project 2025's calls for resuming testing - as to why it is not in US interests to test:
We Need to Prevent a New Era of Nuclear Weapons Testing
The second Trump administration is likely to resume explosive nuclear weapons tests, but they are unnecessary and can have dire consequences that last for generations.

My @ucs.org colleague Jenn Knox has this wonderful piece on how scientists and advocates helped create the testing moratorium that the US, Russia, China, France and the UK are all observing:
How Science and Advocacy Ended Dangerous Nuclear Testing in the United States
Amid calls for a resumption of nuclear weapons testing, it is time for scientists and activists to again unite in opposition to this unnecessary risk.
