Having Halo on a show isnt bad, it just matters what the show is about. It actually helps introduce new audiences to other media even if its not a canon appearance. That being said, Halos decline has far more to do with MS holding Halo back than it did with 343i (Not to say they didnt make mistakes)

I've been saying a while on other social media sites that MS doesn't care about Halo. Is this crossover a gimmick? Yes
Would it have worked? More than likely (about an 80 to 20 success rate I'd guess) and a good example of extended media helping a property id argue is Cyberpunk with Edgerunners

If this ACTUALLY happened, we would've had A LOT more evidence than just here say. We would've had documentation or a response from Halo Studios talking about this and we don't. Why? Because it didn't happen. Also A LOT more people would've confirmed this like Bonnie Ross

Plus, while Patrick did work on Halo, it's also common for some ex-devs to cause a shit storm on social media on purpose because it gives them some fame and attention. Marty O'Donnell is an infamous actor in that reguard. I'm not defending EVERY action 343i made, but this clearly didn't happen

It's clearly a misunderstanding. Keep in mind, this was the first game that Steve Downs voiced in that had Mocap for his character and it's actually common to use temporary VO's in the industry. You need a voice to give an actor an idea about the emotion they're supposed to have for their lines

What I'm trying to say here is that just because he's a dev doesn't mean suddenly he has all of the answers. I know who he is and it's clear that his partnership did not end well due to the layoff which means, again, a misunderstanding of what happened in past events. Do better, man

I always played as a female Spartan when it came to Reach. I gave her anything relevant to the MK. V armor from CE as close as I could, but I gave her a robotic arm and made it canon that she died on Reach
