Plus the cost of installing charging hardware. A solid, good quality Level 2 NEMA 14-50 charger for a J1772 car is $500 minimum. If your car takes NACS (as it should) then it can be more.

AC6 Schneider builds are how I've usually imagined WARSPRITEs are like, is that accurate more or less?

Liberal cities in Europe are way more racist than liberal cities in America

If you think that most trans people can just /get/ five bands via crowdfunding, you probably wildly underestimate how much social capital you have and wildly overestimate how much most trans people have. This is an extremely unrealistic suggestion for most of your target audience
June 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
It's a very real obstacle. I think the obstacle that affects the MOST trans people is just plain poverty. I'm tenuously lower middle class but by the standards of trans women I might as well be a one-percenter. It's grim!
June 18, 2025 at 7:52 PM
And I say this as someone with a fair bit of privilege by the standards of trans women - I'm white, in Washington state, with steady housing, a steady corpo job, and a support network. You GOTTA keep these things in mind if you're doomposting and advocating for individual emigration :/
June 18, 2025 at 6:27 PM
It quite literally is privileged. If you want to and can move, great, do it and feel no shame. If you're too isolated from community to crowdfund, or too brown to live safely in Europe, or too disabled to immigrate to Europe, you are quite literally lacking the privilege to make that happen.

I'm sorry you and your friend had to go through that.

I agree. The last few years of endless hand-wringing about which words can be used by which people have poisoned serious conversation about LGBT rights so badly.

Sarah, it does not imply that, and tone-policing broadly-understood phrases when the news is as heartbreaking as this is useless, tone-deaf, and inappropriate.

At one point I had the thought "Why is everybody so poor here? I'm doing fine! Is it a skill issue on everybody else's part?" and was shocked that the mechanics had made me feel the complete opposite of what the narrative wanted.

This bothered me more than it should have. It makes it harder to accept that life on the Eye is a struggle when I'm brand new there, starting with nothing, and I don't even need to work most days because I'm earning more money than I can reasonably do anything with.

Still like the game overall, I just imagine the sequel is going to be significantly better.
January 11, 2025 at 10:34 PM
This is what I thought about it too. I also found it frustrating that it seems to be grasping at the literary inspirations of games like Disco Elysium, but never quite seems to get there. It's still orbiting the more standard utilitarian "point-A-to-point-B" writing that video games usually have.

Exactly - how in the world do you catch the owner of a drone in restricted airspace? Pre-emptively arrest everybody with a backpack within a five mile radius? The cops have their work cut out for them.
January 11, 2025 at 9:14 AM
They do. Drones are aircraft and mostly need to be treated as such, but almost never are.
January 10, 2025 at 8:09 PM
There's plenty of laws. They're tough for the public to parse and tough for the cops to enforce.
January 10, 2025 at 7:41 PM
It's pretty bad, and there isn't even anything better available
