I seem to recall a youtube video (Nathan baggs?) about a game that actively obfuscated the binaries and needed to be deobf at runtime the first time the methods were executed.

Assuming it's only done it just before execution even that wouldn't be too bad during the course of the game I would think.

Credit needs to go to @rorax.bsky.social for most of the 3D Models and music by K. Jose who kindly licensed their music as CC0.

And my twitch chat for their input, ideas and motivation.

Mobs and players can only move in cardinal directions and each move is gated on everyone moving, or a time or occurring. Interesting with things doesn't count.

Ant pheromones. Everywhere you go, you leave an invisible block of pheromones. The more you backtrack, the stronger the signal on the blocks get.

Meanwhile, giant ants like to follow along the trail you leave.

I love this feature so much it's useful in so many different cases. I just wish there was an option to control how the scaling happens. Sometimes the blur is nice, but when I'm developing software I often just want to see crispy pixel edges.

Sorry for not replying! I thought I'd logged into Bluesky on my phone and I hadn't so I didn't get any notifications!
