We also urge media, activists, rights community, and other stakeholders to give this matter immediate attention. The Bangladeshi High Commission and the Expatriates Ministry have failed to protect victims of modern slavery, instead creating an environment of retaliation following their involvement.

MWN calls on Bangladeshi and Malaysian authorities, as well as international buyers, to take immediate action to ensure workers receive all owed wages, fair compensation, and justice for systemic abuses.

The event aimed to demand urgent support for 431 Bangladeshi workers exploited by two Malaysian companies, Mediceram Sdn. Bhd. and Kawaguchi Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., and to draw attention to the widespread mistreatment of migrant workers in Malaysia.
