I worry about the word revolution. If it's in relation to a record it's a full 360 degree trajectory which simply arrives at the point where something started which seems a bit pointless. Should we not strive for a half revolution?

I dunno, they're a useful buffer against the Christmas ones

I don't think that simpleton could brandish a chainsaw without removing at least one of her own legs. So bad she makes Starmer look good

All I can see is a fish rotting from head down in time lapse. Getting on for half a century supporting Labour pissed away in 12 months.

not sure which one tbh, it's all become a bit of an unseemly donnybrook. But Samantha was entirely my fault for accidentally replying to the wrong person

Happy to agree to disagree on that one, I'm not and never really have been a Corbynite but the current shower are an absolute embarrassment and need to up their game before anyone starts glibly lording it over the left of the party.
July 4, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Did he though? No one gave him a chance in 17 and he pretty much ended May and by 19 the PLP centrists were destroying him and betraying the membership. Add in the Brexit/Boris factor in 19 and it was never going to happen. Starmer would most likely have failed in 17 and 19. Burnham maybe yes
July 4, 2025 at 7:49 PM
and to be fair in the context of your comment I actually agree with you if true, but that's a big if. I'm inclined to wait and see what happens in the next few days.
July 4, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Actually I've just noticed that my original reply on this matter was supposed to be for Madame Duck, who started the whole 'shouting from the sidelines' not you, so apologies. It wasn't a response to your comment. The hazards having an argument while walking the dog. Apologies
July 4, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I'm sorry, maybe I could have phrased it better. Had Corbyn not fought two elections as leader of the Labour Party I might have agreed with you, but he did and as such your accusation against him seems rather unfair

NHS party, she beat Hunt in the High Court twice and it seemed like a good idea at the time. In the end it cost us 3 good and active party members
July 4, 2025 at 7:32 PM
I'm not criticising ordinary people, just you for accusing someone who tried to become PM twice of simply shouting from the sidelines. Surely you can see the inconsistency of that point.
July 4, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Would've preferred Andy Burnham but his campaign was so poor I voted for Corbyn. In hindsight I'd change that. That said, while Corbyn was leader he deserved the full support of the PLP in both elections, but centrists saw the chance of a takeover if he failed
July 4, 2025 at 7:08 PM
17 yes, my CLP backed Corbyn by one vote which caused our treasurer to huff off to the Lib Dems. 19 some of us tried to back Dr Louise Irvine against the then health secretary. That didn't go well.
July 4, 2025 at 7:03 PM
True, but irrelevant. Surely you have to admit that attempting to become PM is inconsistent with simply shouting from the sidelines. That said, he does seem to be a very popular constituency MP and boils the piss of the very worst people in the Labour party, so on balance, not all bad.
July 4, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Funnily enough, I'm aware of that, fighting and winning are clearly not the same thing but it hardly suggests he's content shouting from the sidelines
July 4, 2025 at 6:44 PM
He fought two elections to become PM, it appears to be you shouting from the sidelines

I picked up Spyboy with her Wrecking Ball live band the other day. Ridiculously good live album
