On December 1, 2025 at 11AM, we are gathering at Atlanta City Hall to speak directly to the Atlanta City Council about the killing of Linton Blackwell, who was shot in the back 17 times by an off-duty officer. Every resident will have 2 minutes to speak. 2 minutes to demand transparency. 2 minutes to demand answers. 2 minutes to demand accountability. For years, community concerns have been raised about this officer’s conduct, including prior complaints and internal reports that, according to public discussion, were sustained within the department. These issues cannot be ignored any longer—your voice can help push this conversation into the light. This is not just about one case. It’s about a pattern. It’s about accountability. It’s about a family who deserves justice. And a city that deserves the truth. Show up. Speak out. Stand with the Blackwell family. Justice for Linton Blackwell Justice for Linton Blackwell The Atlanta Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression calls for Justice for Linton Blackwell, also known by his stage name B Green. Blackwell was shot 14 times in the back by an off-duty APD officer, Gerald Walker in Buckhead on October 11th, 2025. The officer justified this murder by claiming that Blackwell had a gun tucked in the small of his back. There is no justification to this wrongful murder by APD regardless as Georgia is a “constitutional carry state”. Furthermore, Blackwell was well within his legal rights to conceal-carry a weapon. @AtlantaAlliance Justice for Linton Blackwell This is not the first time police violence has affected Blackwell’s family. Blackwell’s cousin, Jimmy Hill, lost his own son Jimmy Atchinson to officer Sung Kim on January 22, 2019. Jimmy was not armed. Although the officer was indicted, a federal judge dismissed the case. @AtlantaAlliance Justice for Linton Blackwell Too often police officers are able to end the lives of civilians with impunity. They use vague language like “feared for my life” and “he was armed” without evidence that any lethal actions were being taken against them in the first place. There is no evidence that Blackwell pointed a weapon at this officer, and there is no justification for this officer firing his at Blackwell. Yet officers use qualified immunity to shield themselves from justice—if indicted at all. @AtlantaAlliance
