a good reference library for futuristic spacecraft i'd say is stellaris and various mods for it. particularly something like gigastructural engineering, cause the devs had to greeble up entire solar system-sized vessels, so there'd be some ideas there

then i guess it depends on the style of greeble you're going for. i think subdivide -> pull up/down random patches of surface -> simplify the rest could be a good basic thing to do but ehhhhhhhhhhh. imo a huge part of good topology is just in high attention to detail and some by-hand fiddling
