Gen X comics and sci-fi nerd. And a life-long fan of the black-and-gold.
I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know why A) medical and food science can't create medicine cats will take, and B) vets always prescribe pills that I would have trouble swallowing for an 8 lb cat.

Who's going to perform in this ballroom? Ted Nugent? Kid Rock? Lee Greenwood? The Hitler Youth Boy's Choir?

Wait, "how were bones formed before [the] ice age"...?

The NFL and the sports networks need to get out of bed with the casinos and sports betting sites. It's disgusting how they profit by promoting an activity that is so injurious and potentially ruinous to average Americans.

Age 12 was a goodyear, but even better for me was age 10 in 1977...

May (2002). Horror or psychological thriller - either way, its not bad, as I recall.

They showed this movie to us at a Halloween assembly at school when I was in 6th or 7th grade. I cannot imagine that happening now.

My wife suffers migraines, and has since childhood. They range from totally incapacitating, where all she can do is sleep, to not too bad, where she can actually do her job while suffering one. But, they are all migraines.

I had an article on the Pittsburgh Comicon published in CBG in... 1996 or '97, I think.

Okay, that tracks - it's based on the only Michael Chriton book I never read. 😀
August 12, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Isn’t it based on a Michael Chriton book? If so, it may be the only movie based on one of his books that I haven't seen.

In that case, bring on the new South Park episodes!

Fine. "I support trans rights, but not at the risk of American democracy ending." If that makes me some kind of monster in your eyes, so be it. Maybe Pete has a problem with trans folks, but MAGA & Trump have a problem with everyone who isn't straight, white, and Christian. Which is worse?
August 7, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Yes - MAGA and their leader. I support trans rights, but I'd vote for a transphobic candidate in order to preserve American democracy. There're no "perfect" candidates and if you disqualify everyone who has a bad opinion, you're going to ensure the man who has no *good* opinions stays in power.

Southfork Hunting and Fishing Club in 1888: "Lower the breast of the dam so we can drive across it and plug the spillway so the fish can't escape!"

People of Johnstown, PA in 1889: "My entire family perished when the dam broke."

Are you people waiting for Jesus to return and run for President? The guy in office is endorsing concentration camps, using the military against our own citizens and wiping his ass with the Constitution, and people are like, "But I can't vote for someone who said mean things about trans people."
