I think the relevant point is that will they self censor or does the contract mention they have to self sensor on certain topics? If yes (and likely it's a yes), then they should never ever whine about cancel culture or the woke mob again. On this list, I am only disappointed with Bill Burr

What is a new applicant, if someone has a visa approved and has to go to home country to get it stamped, is that a new applicant?

Does Nate spend so much time criticizing Twitter and it's owner or only bluesky?

Aha, makes sense. What do you think of rent freezes? Will it work or is it better to rationalize property taxes and encourage new construction?

I see the latest guest in cleaning up podcast is Hannah Ritchie!
September 17, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Understood. Accounting for transportation correctly and biofuels will push it to 32% I presume (I was wrong, the figure below does include bioenergy but not biofuels)
September 17, 2025 at 12:57 PM
How much of what he has promised do you think he can get done, because money will have to be approved by hochul i believe?
September 16, 2025 at 9:54 PM
This doesn't include bioenergy, does that make up the remainder?
September 16, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Thanks, I will check it out. I understand the concept and am fully bought into electrification and renewables, but just couldn't find the source of this data point. Our world in data from Hannah Ritchie states primary energy from fossils is 81% in 2024, renewables adjusted using substitution method
September 16, 2025 at 9:02 PM
I also read the second part of the article, very nice! Could you provide the source of data for the 68% of energy services demand met by fossil fuels?

I came across this wmp eyewear on Amazon, and quite like it, reasonably priced too, although I don't like using sunglasses that much
September 13, 2025 at 6:58 PM
In part one, I was trying to work out the 3% higher growth of renewables and how it looks in 2055/65. But it seems like right now the global energy usage is 20% renewables looking at services right? Not 20% of primary energy, which is lower. It seems like you have assumed it is 30% services?

Article behind paywall, but just curious, do you also include land occupied by transmission lines in this, if you are including land for pipelines?

Why do the left wing not like her?
July 20, 2025 at 12:02 PM
Lol, this could have been a valid thought experiment before Trump sided with Russia, wanted to invade Canada and Greenland, heckled zelensky, Vance went to Munich and lectured the Europeans. Now, nobody trusts the US, maybe they would rather make trade deals with China than US.

Makes sense, yeah I watched it for the first year and actually liked it, before sacks went openly maga and chamath started pumping spacs on CNBC. Yeah the fourth guy fridberg was quieter and had seemingly better takes even then
April 3, 2025 at 11:43 PM
I haven't watched it in two years atleast. Do you think they are dumbasses or just cynical asses who will pump and dump and say anything to make money?
April 3, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Overall good for the planet I guess, liberals can buy other EVs, a little more adoption of EVs among the maga base (don't think it will be a lot)

Where is musk in this then?

Looking at the way media and corporations are kneeling down to trump, I have some sympathy for Indian media and companies. Atleast modiji sent CBI and ED first.

This only halts new leases or also existing projects and leases? Seems like the former right?

His biggest positive seems to be the sense of urgency he brings to the companies, although right now I wonder if his drug addled troll persona helps or hurts (assuming he even does any work anymore). Maybe it's the number 2 in both companies driving them forward (for a while)
January 18, 2025 at 11:50 AM
I hate his politics and the cruel power hungry troll he has become. But Tesla did push forward electrification when big auto was not too interested (leaf was there but it was an afterthought to them) in it, and what space-x has done is amazing! But I would never personally buy a Tesla 😃
