Research group at KCL using cryo-EM and cryo-ET to investigate all things around the cytoskeleton and associated proteins
Post-doc position alert!

We will use #cryo-EM to decipher how a set of actin-binding proteins organises the #cytoskeleton, including during #cancer and #viral pathogenic processes.

#KCL has access to;
Krios + K3
cryoARM200 + K3
FIB-SEM
Cryo-CLEM

🧪 We have a new publication out in @NatureComms. 🧪Great collaborative work involving @KclRandallMol, @dsb_unipd, @PhD_DSB_UniPD, @cnr_scitec, @humantechnopole. Here's the link www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Microtubule association induces a Mg-free apo-like ADP pre-release conformation in kinesin-1 that is unaffected by its autoinhibitory tail - Nature Communications
Kinesin-1 utilizes ATP-driven conformational changes to transport vital intracellular cargoes along microtubules. The authors use cryo-EM to reveal a missing structural transition state of the kinesin...

Excited to see our @natcomms.nature.com paper out! #Cryo-EM reveals a #microtubule stimulated ADP-release transition state of #kinesin 1. The auto-inhibitory tail has no affect on motor domain conformations. Focussed subunit processing helps! #cryoEM #microtubules

There's a post-doc position going in our group based at the Randall Centre, KCL, UK.

The project aims to determine how viruses manipulate host cell cytoskeletons to enhance their replicative capabilities, using cryo-EM/cryo-ET/FIB-SEM.
