Capitalism combined with a strong democracy, solves more problems than it creates. Regulations are used to fix those problems. America has been on a de-regulation rampage in the last 30 years and THAT is the problem - not capitalism.

Humans are amazing. And we're getting better and better at being amazing as time goes on. But it's not linear progression. Right now we're in a slump obviously, but the trend is still positive. I think most people forget this.

I miss them too. But I like having a smaller laptop than lugging around an optical drive that is unused for 99.9% of the time. That said, I'm currently looking at a spindle of 50 old DVDs that I don't know if I can throw away - because I currently have no DVD drive to check their contents.

Putin dies and Assad is arrested soon after.
