No one seems to care about any technology outside of AI anymore. And they use these tools to generate code for them, instead of them. And what's worst, it works. The end product is perfectly usable. I hoped there would be a gotcha sooner or later, but it isn't coming and I begin to accept..

Honetsly I'm a doomer about it as well. I work as a webdev, I abhor generative "AI" and everything it stands for. But I'm massaged by it, day by day, by my coworkers - not bosses, coworkers! We stopped talking about solutions, technical back and forths became bullet points from gpts/claudes/whatevs

Seems like unnecessary "fuck you if you are not me".

I'm projecting, obviously. But I'm a cs major who just wanted to be better at my craft and after 10+ years of gettting better bit by bit I feel like I'm about to be replaced with loud applause from people who supposedly hate AI as much as I do.
