On December 6th, we recognize the National Day of Remembrance and Action Against Violence Against Women. In recognition of the day, Athabasca County will be lowering its flags to half-mast.

With the weather getting colder, its natural and proper to be concerned about the welfare of animals you may come across. While you may be tempted to intervene if you find an animal at-large, by picking up the animal you may be inadvertently taking the animal further away from its home. (1/4)

On Wednesday, November 20 at 1:55 pm, a test will be done of the Alberta Emergency Alert system. It’s just a test but a great reminder to be prepared for any real emergencies.
Test messages will also be issued over TV, radio, cell phones and tablets.
