DIY wine rack update: These joists are 51 3/8" end to end, but Home Depot Canada carries 3/8" aluminum rods only at max 48". So I resored to 72" threaded steel and hacksawed them.
As a bonus, there's no risk of lateral slipping, thanks to the threads.
And it looks more polished, literally.

Ahahah. This is the reason I wasn't seeing any messages in the Inbox. The first invalid message was blocking Apple Mail from fetching the emails. Once I deleted Gmail's filler message, the pipes got unclogged.

Yeah, an app password worked! I had to enable 2FA to be able to add an app password. Had to pick "Password" as auth type (not "APOP"). Final settings:

Boom! So far, this passed the "simplest Hello World example runs with zero issues" litmus test, that many many "easily do X" frameworks fail at. And it's a big deal [breaker] for me. Great vibes so far.
