xred is a file infector. Detected by any credible AV, so my guess is whoever uploaded it did not have any sort of endpoint security.

Github skidware, the malicious binary even still has symbols so if you have the binary ninja go plugin you can just read the package names lol.

It's one of those ideas that seems stupid but if you consider that MAS (legitimate piracy tool) does roughly the same thing you could see someone doing it.
