Second up! What are the names of these two pups, @pastaparade.bsky.social ? I liked the Shining vibe they were giving off. This one came out a bit different than the others, but that's part of the experimentation process that I'm working through right now. Learning things! #dogart #dogs

I also like where the texture of the fur or whiskers overlaps the background. Brindle or golden colors are more difficult than black and white, the extra tonal layers can be a challenge. The first of these illustrations I did was Juno, my own boston terrier. So Penny was impossible to resist.

When I pick the photo to work from, I'm looking for a close up shot of the dog's face, looking at the camera, that can be cropped to little more than just the head, preferably with a funny look on their face (A tennis ball is also nice).

Woof. Just finished the next Trusty John comic page. Probably the most difficult of the bunch. Lots of speech balloons from the ravens here to set up a quick sequence of comedic events on the next page.
