It does seem the insertion of oligarchy is underway. And if so, it follows a fairly predictable pattern. The Russians did this in the Eastern European countries after WWII. Sympathizers were inserted into every level of local politics. So watch the local political landscapes. Watch for places where stable local governments or institutions are upended. Watch where strong-armed leaders with significantly slanted world views suddenly become fire chiefs or mayors or defacto leaders in absence of opposition. But most of all, we have a job to do. And it begins with our vocabulary. How we describe these things. The isms and sayings we use to transmit information to each other. We don’t have a descriptive vocabulary for tyranny in our language set as Americans. But we must build one. The fight for democracy begins there.

So he’ll walk the halls Her halls Where they walked together When hope was hope And hope kept them walking Till he walked And she rode And he puahed And he talked to her  And she listened And he filled the walks  With a thousand neat things Little footnotes Little hopes Filling the space love leaves for others A little story One little love Filling time Then that morning came And he went home alone And folded her clothes And smelled her smell And left her pillow  And walked to the kitchen And to the store and left Walking  Looking for his place But that was beside her And he can’t find her Now he’ll walk her halls His turn But alone And in a few weeks He’ll find her And I wish I could fix it But there’s nothing to fix
