Rotary evaporators work on the principle that solvents have a range of boiling points, which decrease under reduced pressure.

There's often too high a cost for SMEs to carry out some cutting edge research, but @asynt.bsky.social have partnered with Nottingham Analytical & Scientific Services to bridge the gap. @uniofnottingham.bsky.social 's Dr Harry Taylor talks through why it's so important in this guest blog:
In our new guest blog Dr Harry Taylor, from Nottingham Analytical & Scientific Services says:

"Analytical chemistry is the unsung hero behind some of the most ground breaking advancements in modern science."

I think that DrySyn Vortex is our best kept secret at @asynt.bsky.social! I HAVE to shout about the new addition to the platform though which enables precise temperature control for up to 3 x 500 mL RBF in parallel from -30 °C to 150 °C depending on options selected.

#Screening #TemperatureRamping
Not enough space for parallel temperature-controlled #screening of benchtop scale reactions using viscous materials?

DrySyn Vortex TCS: ambient to 150 °C as standard, or -30 °C to 150 °C w/ optional DrySyn SnowStorm MULTI inserts, using your circulator of choice.

There can (understandably) be a little reticence to working under pressurised conditions, but with the right apparatus, it's easier to shift your focus to the #chemistry.
The @asynt.bsky.social range includes single/parallel setups, & all the #LabSafety options you could ever want!

Thanks!

KW posting: Here's a serious question for you. I'm genuinely curious why some chemists still use oil baths & water cooling instead of more #sustainablechemistry options, such as #DrySyn oil-free heating blocks & #chemistryaircondensers.
If that's you, do you fancy sharing your thoughts please? 🤔
