This is my new fav evening snack. Yoghurt soaked oats with nuts, seeds, dried berries, and banana.

A quick soup with rehydrated shitake, tofu, and carrots in a miso-dashi based broth. Umami!

In America calling a fascist fascist is more offensive than fascism.

The more one reads the history of United States, the more it becomes clear why the whites don't want it to be learned. Even the *heroes*, the white saviour Lincoln doesn't hold up to historical scrutiny.

Rice and pepper chicken. Asian food keeps growing on me. And this is so easy.

Bell peppers, rehydrated shitake, chicken. Used a recioe from a FB reel, added Shitake, and that worked like a charm. Awesome

Good day.

Goan chorizo pulao. Quick and easy. Delicious. Served with a simple raita. I added some bell peppers too and that worked great. Next, I would try adding some black beans.

I love gourds. Three of them here. Bottle gourd, bitter gourd, snake gourd.

Fredrik Backman is the writer for our times. Reading his latest: My Friends. Rarely in fiction is empathy the central character.

Pasta and pesto are vowel cousins. Maybe that's why pesto based pasta is so delicious.

Pasta with chicken and veggies and homemade pesto (with a mix of almonds and walnuts).

I'm getting good at Japanese style fried rice.

Where I talk about Japanese Curry, after tasting it for the first time during my recent Japan trip.

Check out the cool preview. It's #substack's underappreciated feature.

I'm upping my latte game. This is not coffee art, yet, but I'm getting there (need to experiment with different milk, not sure my cow milk has enough fats to get the desired foam for latte art). These failed attempts are for my reference.

A not so common shade of Bougainville. Pretty as can be.

Summers without an AC means the lunches become a challenge. Today it's leftover green chicken and rice. Summer recipe. The coolness of mint, the freshness of coriander, and very basic spices (dhana jeera powder and ginger garlic paste), cashew and onion based gravy, with yogurt. #FoodDiary

Begum Akhtar had a very difficult life and her face bears the ravages of that past, and strangely, that makes it more beautiful.

The front and the back cover of the LP.

#BegumAkhtar remains the greatest #ghazal singer for me. Much more than a ghazal singer, of course. My son's piano teacher lent his precious #vinyl to me, and my god to listen to her record (and I don't even have a top end player/speaker) hits differently.
