I photographed the solar eclipse from the lawn outside Dallas City Hall. It was very cloudy all morning, but the clouds broke before totality.
Solar corona visible during the total eclipse The diamond ring effect shows the brightness of the sun starting to peak out as totality ends. Before the sun is completely covered by the moon, you can see red solar prominences peaking out.
