Sadly, @atmocheryl.space & I had to say goodbye to our sweet, beautiful Katniss last night. She was 14 and battling recent lymphoma. She had the best purrs & adorable cheeps & saw us through 3 moves, our B.S. degrees & a million memories. She's completely irreplaceable & we will miss her forever! 🌈😇

obsessed with NCIS Origins... It's darker, broodier, and digging into all the right places, this 1 episode per week thing is killing @atmocheryl.space and I though

Happy #Caturday from our sweet angel Katniss who is still here with us! 🧡 She's had a bit of a struggle lately but we've been working with her vet closely to determine the best ways to help her out & to help make other decisions when it's time. Just grateful for each day & every purr! #CatsOfBluesky

My senior baby, Katniss, having a little sun bath on her heating pad. She had a tough day yesterday so it's good to see her up and about acting more herself! 🧡 She even visited the screened porch for a few minutes this week afternoon! #CatsOfBluesky

The SPHEREx mission is scheduled to launch in the 1st half of 2025. Caltech & JPL will develop the payload, the spacecraft will be supplied by Ball Aerospace. Data gathered from the mission will be made publicly available at www.ipac.caltech.edu Learn more at www.jpl.nasa.gov/missions/sph... (5/5)

SPHEREx Principal Investigator Jamie Bock (NASA JPL / Caltech) explains: “…whenever astronomers look at the sky in a new way, we can expect discoveries.” The telescope uses spectroscopy to split & break down all that light to reveal properties like composition & distance of objects from Earth. Every 6 months during its mission, SPHEREx will complete a survey of the entire sky, and using the near-infrared, create a 3D map capturing over 100 colors! Scientists can use this data to study the origins of our universe, the physics of inflation, and search for water and organic molecules. (3/5)

NASA’s Launch Services Program will be supporting several exciting missions in 2025 but a big one you may not know much about is SPHEREx! Short for ‘Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer’, SPHEREx will be the first all-sky spectral survey. (1/5)

This is Katniss, she is 14 years old but still scrappy and sometimes likes to put all her paws in a row 🧡

Happy Caturday from my 14-yr old senior baby! She's not been the same since getting sick last summer. We don't know how long we have left with her but every extra day has been a profound gift! 🥰 #CatsOfBluesky

Sorry to hear that, @atmocheryl.bsky.social and I did the same on Tuesday! Must be that kind of week, lol.

Well that's gonna float like a lead balloon, I know many federal workers are very fond of their hybrid and remote work situations!

I've attached some photos from spacecraft encapsulation activities at NASA Kennedy. The tiny person in the first picture is not me, but it's an accurate depiction of how I felt getting to see the Europa Clipper spacecraft up close for the first time! ✨ Photos from NASA Kennedy, credits in alt (4/4)

Just over a month ago, NASA launched the Europa Clipper mission 🛰 It's a mission that I'd been following for years & while it's not "my" mission, it was my mentor's, so I was lucky enough to help along the fringes & see some pretty cool things! It was also my 1st time in the clean room! (1/4)

As part of the Mechanical team at NASA’s Launch Services Program, one of the really cool parts of my job is getting to work on some of the amazing missions that LSP supports! 🛰️ As a newer member of the team, I’ve only recently been assigned my 1st support role, for a mission called COSI (1/5)

The holiday urge to burn large amounts of my paycheck to achieve peak Christmas on our new apartment porch is very strong this year 💸🎄

I don't know whose porch this is (thanks Pinterest...) but 🤩
