These companies have blood on their hands. They say the patient is their #1 priority but the fact is, they are a business before anything else. If that means denying claims for patients with cancer, post-op organ transplants, rare congenital diseases…. So be it.

In response, Kim Keck (President and CEO of BCBS) gave her condolences. But look at the graph. They are ALSO above the national average for claim denial. One thing BCBS can deny is anesthesia if a surgery is “too long” (www.asahq.org/about-asa/ne...). Absolutely unacceptable.

@kenklippenstein.bsky.social shared this graph just today and it’s 100% true. The only “legacy” this man will leave behind is the number of people who have fallen victim of his greed and the greed of other big PBMs.

I work in the pharmacy world btw, the number of times I have seen these PBMs reject claims for people who are on the verge of death is INSANE. Like I’m talking patients who have had organ transplants and need these medications so they can survive.
