We are proud to be part of the DEAP-3600, working to uncover the invisible #darkmatter. The latest meeting took place at Carleton U. on 10–13 Aug, where we shared talks on database management, light/charge collection and detection R&D at Astrocent, and outreach activities.

Dr. Azam Zabihi (Astrocent/NCAC) is visiting IHEP in Beijing as part of the PROBES Project to work on cryogenic systems and TPC technology. On July 16, she presented a seminar on using xenon-doped liquid argon scintillators for advanced PET scanners in medical physics.

🕳️ Our colleagues at LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA announced detection of the most massive #blackhole merger ever seen!
Event GW231123, observed on Nov 23, 2023, came from black holes of ~103 & 137 solar masses - forming one over 225 times the Sun’s mass☀️
